A landmark on the Richmond waterfront.
Built as a speed-skating venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Richmond Olympic Oval is one of the Lower Mainland’s most distinctive landmarks — its sweeping timber roof rising beside the Fraser River. Matson Peck & Topliss provided professional land surveying services on the project.
The challenge
A structure of this span and architectural complexity, on a sensitive waterfront site, demanded precise survey control and exacting layout with no room for drift across its long, curving form.
Our approach
Our surveyors established control across the site and carried accurate layout and topographic work through the project, coordinating closely with the design and construction teams.
Outcome
Survey deliverables the team could build on with confidence — supporting a landmark that continues to define the Richmond waterfront.
