Twin towers joined by a glass-bottom pool.
The Arc, located at the Cambie Street Bridge entrance into downtown Vancouver, is a 28-storey mixed-use development comprising two separate towers connected through a glass-bottom swimming pool, rejoining at the last 8 floors to form a single building.
Civil engineering scope
Civil engineering requirements included new development service connections and frontage improvements along Pacific Boulevard, Nelson Street and Expo Boulevard, consisting of sidewalk and boulevard works. City staff requested the inclusion of a street tree within the hardscape island along Expo Boulevard, which required a unique drainage system and permeable pavers to facilitate improved watering within the surrounding hardscape.
