A transit-oriented hub at Capstan.
The Galleria development, located next to the new Canada Line station on No. 3 Road, south of Sea Island Way, comprises 2 buildings serving over 16,000 new residents. Ground-level and podium floors accommodate significant commercial and retail uses, along with residential amenities, contributing to a transit-oriented, mixed-use urban centre within the Capstan Village area.
Civil engineering scope
The Galleria offsite servicing works required coordination with various stakeholders including the City of Richmond, the Ministry of Transportation and TransLink (in coordination with the Capstan Way Canada Line station). MPT Engineering brought years of expertise to actively coordinate and manage the requirements of the various stakeholders to ensure a successful outcome.
Significant offsite services were required, including road widening for new pedestrian and bicycle facilities, street-lighting improvements along all frontages, and over 900 metres of storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water main.
