Viewstar
Viewstar is a multi-phased development situated across multiple adjacent properties, totalling 350,000 square feet of land area, 1.3 million square feet of total floor area, and over 900 residential units.
Phase 1, located between Phase 2 and 3 of the development, comprises 6 residential buildings with a total of 577 residential units.
Phase 2, located on the north side of the development, comprises 2 residential buildings totalling over 300 units, along with 1 commercial tower totalling 200,000 square feet of commercial space. This phase also includes a significant community contribution, providing a mixed-use community center, over 35,000 square feet.
Phase 3, located on south-west corner of the development, comprises 2 residential buildings with a total of 90 residential units. This phase abuts the Fraser River, and provides dike improvements seamlessly integrated into the building design concept.
MPT Engineering provided civil engineering services for all phases of the development. Phase 1 development requirements included the design and implementation of a new road from No. 3 Road to Corvette Way, pedestrian and bicycle facilities along the development frontages, and significant underground utility improvements, totalling over 1,000 meters of storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water main design and installation. Phase 2 requirements included completion of pedestrian and bicycle facilities along the development frontage. Phase 3 requirements included modification to Capstan Way with future consideration to the eventual road termination, Corvette Way improvements along with pedestrian and bicycle facilities along all frontages. Significant dike improvements were required, raising the dike core to 4.9m with consideration for future dike raising to 5.5m which MPT coordinated the design efforts for and oversaw the completion of construction works.
Construction of Phase 2 and 3 of the Viewstar development is forthcoming, and MPT Engineering continues to be involved as the development progresses.
